Guest Speaker: Trish Eksteen

Trish hails from a small town in the Free State where, as a small girl she excelled at track and field and Cross Country both on a provincial level.  Trish’s love for running saw her make the transition to road running and looking for the ‘ultimate’ challenge decided to take on the Comrades Marathon.  Not content with just road running, Trish competed in Cross Country becoming one of the best Cross-Country runners in her age category in the Country. Trish’s love for running was taken a step further where she took on some of the most iconic trail events in South Africa where many of her records still stand. 

Trish was then “persuaded” to try the new and dynamic sport of Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) which has seen her become the best Elite OCR competitor in the country and the number one 40+ in the world, placing in the top ten in the Pro (Elite) division at the OCR World Championships for 4 years running.  

She is a mom to two boys with her husband Claude co-own two Training Facilities in La Lucia & Ballito called Adventure Obstacle Training, they run an Events Company (X10 Events) a Coffee shop called The Champions Cup and for fun, they coach athletes in 5 different countries.
