PRESENTERS: Annie Kohne, Ceileigh Neidermayr & Annabelle Slabbert
Annie Kohne, Black Belt
Annie found jiu-jitsu in her 40s and has since won European championships at blue belt, International Masters at purple belt, and brought home TWO golds at International Masters at brown belt, and eager to compete at black belt once CO-VID allows. She has trained under two well known coaches in Richmond and London in England and now lives in Pietermaritzburg, doing her part to uplift her community where she can, teaching self defence and working as a part-time nurse at a school.
Ceileigh ‘Smile Savage’ Neidermayr, Purple Belt
Nationals 2019, African open 2019, am record 7-1, now fighting pro. 36 min roll.
Ceileigh specialises in MMA with a resume that includes having won nationals and African Opens in 2019 as well as holding an amateur record of 7W-1L. However this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt also endured one of the longest jiu-jitsu finals fights the local fight scene has ever witnessed at 36 minutes. Needless to say, she is a force to be reckoned with. Currently training at Novagen BJJ Academy with the Badat Brothers, Zakir and Shakir, Ceileigh is focused on pursuing her professional career while navigating another career as an Equine Physiotherapist, that’s horses if you were wondering.
Annabelle Slabbert, Blue Belt
Annabelle started to learn MMA for self defence when she had just left high school in 2016 and ended up competing in some local competitions before moving to Carlson Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with David Verster in 2019. Since then, amongst local jiu-jitsu competitions, she won Africa’s at White Belt, before transitioning to blue belt in the midst of the pandemic.
