How did you get into this business? Husband was a technician.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced, and how did you overcome it? Learning to run a business without the training / knowledge. We overcame it by being open to advice and criticism. We are fortunate to have great people (Family, friends and clients) who are willing to part with their knowledge.
What single trait/skill could you not have succeeded without? I am a peoples person. I speak to ’strangers’ daily on the phone, so chatting comes easily. It makes customers feel like they have known us for a long time, and I make them feel comfortable. We are intruding in their own personal space, so its important that they trust us.
What is the best business advice you’ve received? Be honest. So simple, but we find people fibbing to us constantly. Its something we reiterate to our staff – be honest with the clients, they appreciate the honesty more than the error upsetting them.
Your secret to business success is? Honesty is the best policy. I tell my staff to rather be honest with our customers and tell them if you have made a mistake, or if you won’t make it for the day they booked in, then come up with a story! They alway catch up on you!
What is your business goal for 2022? Consistently Market
Tell us one thing that not many people know about you? I am a qualified Events Co-ordinator, for big events. Unfortunately it’s not the most ideal industry for a young family as you work mainly weekends, and lots of long hours.
