PwC Vision to Reality Competition and more SA Innovation Summit Competitions – enter by 30 June 2015

The SA Innovation Summit would like to request that you pass this invitation to take part on to all innovators and entrepreneurs that you think might be interested to enter our 2015 SA Innovation Summit competitions.

Finalists and winners will be chosen at this year’s SA Innovation Summit’s Market-on-the-Edge that takes place from 27 – 29 August 2015 at the Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town. Winners share in more than R100,000 in cash prizes. Competitions close 30 June 2015 and the results of the first round of judging will be made known by the end of July.

The overall winner of the 2015 Vision to Reality Awards Programme wins a trip to the value of R100 000+ to attend and present at the global PwC Accelerator conference where PwC’s Accelerator team showcases the flagship companies selected by PwC’s Accelerator worldwide to enhance their visibility and credibility, boost their professional reputation and introduce them to potential partners that can help them in their internationalisation strategy.

The top 10 up-and-coming companies will enter into PwC’s mentorship programme with access to local and global industry leaders and strategic advisors providing them with valuable guidance on their growth plans.

Who is eligible for the PwC Vision to Reality Competition 2015?

Entries are restricted to private or public high-growth tech-enabled companies that:

  • Are either controlled or headquartered on the African continent;
  • Have their management team and R&D activities located on the African continent;
  • Own proprietary technology or have intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of operating revenue; and
  • Provide technology-enabled solutions spanning across any industry. Particular areas of interest include software and cloud-based solutions, big data, cyber security, fintech and agrifood processing.
  • Criteria

To be eligible for nomination, the business needs to comply with at least three of the below criteria:

  • Record a turnover of more than R25m per annum currently or within the next 24 months.
  • Demonstrate high growth potential or increasing market share.
  • Demonstrate scalability.
  • Be close to achieving break-even or profitability.
  • Have national or international expansion plans with a high level of commitment by your shareholders and management team

The SAB Foundation will award R 50,000 to the best Social Innovation entered into any of the Summit competitions.

The South Africa Climate Innovation Centre (SACIC) will sponsor bonus prizes of cash and grants to the value of R250,000 for the best Green Innovation at the SA Innovation Summit.

The SABS Design Foundation will sponsor the top 10 Inventor’s Garage competition entrants to attend a SABS Design Institute Go-to-Hub where young innovators will be exposed to information about turning ideas into profitable businesses.
