Human Trafficking and the Open Door Crisis Centre Thora Mansfield
The ODCC was founded in 1997, a multifaceted, multi-disciplinary non profit organization with special focus on abused women, vulnerable children. Since 2008 the Open Door has been recognized as the leading role player in the field of human trafficking. Thora Mansfield, founder of the ODCC, will be sharing history of the ODCC and their work with abused women and children, and victims of human trafficking.

Well known speaker on many topics including women’s and children’s issues.
Lecturer to the legal, medical and SAPS services on trauma and crisis management. Lobby for better service provision for women and children.In 2010 Thora was the only person in The Republic of South Africa to be invited by the Dept of Justice, American Embassy and International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to attend a conference in America on human trafficking During that time Thora met with Ambassador du Bac from the American Embassy Justice Department.
In 2011 Thora was sponsored by British Airways to visit London enabling her to visit Crawley Rape Hospital, holding cells and youth drop in centres.

- Rose of Sharon Award for making a difference
- Women Demand Dignity White Ribbon award for outstanding achievement and contribution to the prevention of violence against women and children
