“Growth vibrations (Vibrating growth) in The Bedroom” by Hilda Tod & Chantal Edouard-Betsy
How two conventional women’s courage established an unconventional successful brand and franchise offering (in a relatively short time and despite challenges faced).
Chantal and Hilda are co-owners of the award-winning sensual boutique for women, The Bedroom. Qualified as an Environmental Health Officer & Industrial Psychologist respectively, and with backgrounds in property and IT, nothing in their past work life had prepared these two ladies to do something life changing and open an unconventional retail business which is now successfully franchised countrywide.
The Bedroom has won a number of awards from Independent Retailer of the Year (from the SACSC) and Emerging Entrepreneur (from the BWA) to being a finalist for an SA Blog Award. They have been featured in a number of publications including Cosmo, Essentials, Cleo, Woman & Home, Sunday Tribune, Shopping SA, local papers and magazines and on Carte Blanche. They live by the “by women for women” ethos.
