Other contributions by KZNWIB and its members

The support that the KZNWIB members have given ODC in 2009 is as follows:

    • Janice Anetts painted beautiful murals on the walls at Ikhaya Le Themba our shelter for abused women and children.  The clients in the shelter assisted and a lot of fun was had by all.
    • Brenda  donated a fax/answering machine which has been placed at our shelter Ikhaya Le Themba as the last one had had been stolen when we had a burglary.
    • Caro Walker set up a website and will support us with a “holiday” and cash programme which will benefit The Open Door Crisis Care Centre financially.
    • KZNWIB donated a beautiful set of heavy duty pots for Ikhaya Le Themba.  Great excitement and fun was had by the clients to see who was going to use them first.
    • A total of R 12 456  was donated to ODC from meeting donations
    • A microwave & bar fridge as well as  ongoing supply of Photostat paper, tinned food, toiletries and toilet paper.
    • KZNWIB sells the ODC beaded teddies at the meetings which support the ODC upliftment programme for the ladies in the community.
    • Isabel from Neat Freak visited us at our offices and will help sort out our clients files and re-arrange our packing and storage space.
    • KZNWIB donated 100 bags with fabulous goodies to spoil  the ladies in the  community and our clients.  The colourful fabric bags consisted of towels, toiletries,  body lotion, and other exciting goodies. This was really special as the ladies normally do not receive such special gifts.
